At AVCO Design, “full-service” means we design the space, source and purchase materials, fixtures, furnishings, and art, and coordinate with the contractor and trades to ensure the finished project matches the design intent.
We offer our services with confidence because most of our projects come from past clients and their referrals.
Where we work
AVCO Design is based in Sebastopol and works with clients throughout Sonoma County, including Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, Sebastopol, Sonoma, Kenwood, Glen Ellen, Petaluma, Occidental, and Forestville. We take on select projects in Napa County, Marin County, and the surrounding North Bay Area.

Note: We do not take on a general contractor role. Our drawings convey design intent rather than construction documents, and a licensed contractor performs the work. We help select the contractor, coordinate the build, and stay accountable through installation.

Commercial spaces, including tasting rooms and showrooms. We are currently working on a tasting room in Cloverdale and just finished a showroom in Santa Rosa.

Questions About Working With Us
What happens after the design is approved?
The design phase ends and purchasing begins. We place orders for approved materials, fixtures, and furnishings, arrange receiving and storage, and schedule deliveries against the construction timeline. Nothing is ordered until you have approved it in writing.
Can we hire AVCO Design for Design only?
Usually not. Design and purchasing run together, and when construction is involved, we coordinate it as well. Keeping the three connected is what protects the design intent from the drawing to the finished room, and separating them is where most projects lose it. If your project is exceptional enough to warrant design alone, tell us in the New Project Questionnaire, and we will give you a straight answer.
Do we have to use your contractor or builder?
No. We coordinate contractor selection and bids during design, and we have a trade network we know and trust. If you already have a contractor you want to work with, we will work with them.
How far in advance should we start?
Earlier than most people expect. Selections, lead times, and permitting (if desired) all occur before construction, and the furnishings that define a room are often the longest-lead items on the schedule. Starting the conversation before you have a construction start date gives us room to sequence the work properly rather than compress it.
